A new report is hot off the press from SafeWise, who have just released their "5 Safest Cities In Wyoming Report", for 2016. Where does your town fare in the report?

The data is the most recent put out by SafeWise and compiled from the most recent FBI crime data from 2014  to rank cities across the country and in Wyoming.

The metrics involved with the survey included: population data, combined with property crimes, aggravated assault in each city. However, for cities in Wyoming whose population was fewer than 3,000 were not included in the survey.

Here are the top 5 cities in Wyoming that they found to be the safest.

  1. Thermopolis - Violent Crimes per 1,000 people were .33 and property crimes per 1,000 were 7.22
  2. Worland - Violent crimes per 1,000 people were .55 and property crimes per 1,000 were 9.91
  3. Green River - Violent crimes per 1,000 people were 2,41 and property crimes per 1,000 people were 12.62
  4. Torrington - Violent crimes per 1,000 people were 3.07 and property crimes per 1,000 people were 15.64
  5. Cody - Violent crimes per 1,000 people were 1.51 and property crimes per 1,000 people were 18.98

Our of 22 cities in the Cowboy State, Laramie came in 7th, Casper came in 16th and Cheyenne came in 16th. Riverton, Wyoming was considered the least safest city.
