Are you in the mood for some live music? Well you're in luck because there is a lot of it to choose from around our area this week.

Leon Russell just played the Gryphon Theatre in Laramie earlier this month and he'll be back at the Gothic Theatre in Denver on Saturday, August 17. Doors open and 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $30 in advance and $35 the day of the show.Queens of the Stone Age are at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on Thursday, August 15, beginning at 7 p.m.

The Midtown Tavern has local guitarist George Ball starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 16, with no cover charge. We'll hopefully have George here at the KING studio for a preview on Friday evening. The Midtown Tavern is also known as Anderson's Other Corner at 1303 East Pershing Boulevard.

Pepie entertains at Steamboat's Steak and Smoke House, 1947 Dell Range Boulevard, on Friday, August 16, and there's no cover charge.

Fridays on the Plaza presents the local band, Stormbringer on August 16 between 5:30 and 8 p.m. And the annual Cheyenne Kiwanis Rib Fest is Friday through Sunday at the Depot Plaza with plenty of tasty live bands to go with all the barbeque. Deja Blue play Friday at 9 p.m., Saturday has the Todd Dereemer Band at 3 p.m. Bandjaxed starting at 6:30 and Boogie Machine at 9 p.m. And Sunday, enjoy BeatGrass on the Depot Plaza beginning at 11 a.m.

In Fort Collins, it's time for Bohemian Nights at New West Fest this weekend. The live entertainment kicks off with The Samples on Friday, August 16, at 8:30 p.m. on the Mountain Avenue stage. Headliners on Saturday, August 17, are Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite beginning at 8:30 p.m. on the Mountain stage and Leon Russell plays on Sunday, August 18, at 5:30 p.m. Link to their lineup page for all the other bands.

The 17th Street Arts Festival starts on Friday evening and runs through Saturday night and it's all free in downtown Cheyenne behind the former Dinneen building on 17th Street. Friday's entertainment includes Ty Warner of Change Agents and Dave Niemann. The music continues Saturday, August 17, with performances from Todd and Grace Dereemer, Bandjaxed, Steve and Gretchen Gilmore and Jalan Crossland, from Tensleep, Wyoming, plays at 7:30 p.m.
