Person Taunts Bull Elk in Estes Park, He Makes Them Regret It
I don't normally wish bad things on people, but in this case I believe the human deserved it. Someone in a car in Estes Park, Colorado thought it would be a good idea to taunt a bull elk with his ladies nearby. That didn't end well for the car.
Here's the key info shared on the YouTube video about why this elk did what it did:
The passenger of the vehicle, attacked in the video, started taunting the elk prior to the video starting.
Mess with the bull and you get the horns and that's definitely the case with elk, too. Boom.
I'm imagining how this is gonna go with the person in the white car trying to explain to their insurance adjuster exactly how they have elk antler marks down the side of their vehicle..."Well, I was going to the Walmart to get some ketchup and decided on my way out of the parking lot to challenge a much more intelligent animal to a duel".
This happened in September which is the height of the elk rutting season. This big guy likely sees everything moving near him as a challenge. The fact they lowered their window and gestured toward him means they got exactly what they deserved. My Colorado Parks explains what this bull elk is up to:
At its peak from mid-September to mid-October, the elk rut is a time when male elk, or bulls, vie for the hearts of their female counterparts, known as cows. Their goal is to prove their prowess and win the loyalty of a “harem” of females.
A massive bull elk smackdown. Boom.
