[PHOTOS] Cheyenne’s Barnes & Noble Shares Store Reopening Update
Bookworms of Cheyenne and SE Wyoming are counting the days for the new Barnes & Noble location to open at 5116 Frontier Mall Drive. It's been over a year since the city has had a large-scale bookstore retailer - readers have had to scour Walmart and Target for new releases or drive out of town to find their reading material.
It's been a tumultuous journey on the road to reopening for Barnes & Noble. The retailer was forced to close its doors at the original location of 1851 Dell Range Blvd. after leasing issues and was replaced by Natural Grocers. The bookstore promised to make its return as soon as a new venue was located.
Rumors abounded that B&N would reopen near Hobby Lobby or Michael's in Cheyenne. For a time, a pop-up shop was scheduled to open in Frontier Mall, but that temporary location fell through.
A new location was determined for the book retailer - ironically in the old Natural Grocer's building at 5116 Frontier Mall Drive #400. The first reopening announcement came last January, with a projected reopening in September of 2023. Unfortunately, that date was postponed - leaving book fans waiting for news on the official reopening.
The official Grand Opening announcement came last August when Barnes & Noble spilled the beans on Instagram. Book lovers of Cheyenne rejoiced with the news - B&N returns to Cheyenne on October 25, 2023!

Now, with the Grand Opening nearing, the store has begun sharing updates on the building progress, decorating, and staging of the store. According to B&N's Instagram page, they unloaded over 60,000 lbs of products in 24 hours!
After unloading, the store was ready to be stocked and staged. Check out sneak peek photos and video of the new Cheyenne Barnes & Noble:
