Tonight, Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East renew their rivalry on the football field for the 67th time.

The Capital City Bowl dates back to East High's inaugural season in 1960.

Central leads the all-time series 43 to 23. However, East has dominated in recent years.

The Thunderbirds ran up a six game winning streak before being upset by the Indians last year.

In spite of a 2-3 start, East will be the favorite once again this year. Last week, they defeated Kelly Walsh 23-6.

Central is 1-4 on the year and has dropped four straight after winning the season opener against Natrona County.

The Indians proud football program has fallen on hard times recently. Over the years, Central has won 12 state titles, most recently in 2005.

East High was won four state championships, including their 2013 title run.

If history teaches us anything, you can throw out the records when these two teams meet.
