There are some great small towns here in Wyoming. One of the most quaint and charming places in the Cowboy State is the town of Centennial.

Just over 30 miles west of Laramie, Centennial is perched at the base of the Snowy Range mountains. With a population of only 270, it’s a popular year-round destination for tourists visiting the nearby Snowy Range Ski Area and Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest.

According to the travel site Thrillist, Centennial is the best small town for tourists in Wyoming. The article Best Small Towns To Visit in All 50 States said, "This tiny outpost features all the best things about Wyoming -- friendly bars, wide-open spaces, great music, and access to some of the most starkly beautiful outdoor recreation you'll find anywhere."

They also lauded the annual Centennial Poker Run, which is renowned among skiers and snowmobilers as Wyoming's wildest winter party.

Highway 130 is Centennial’s main street and is dotted with shops, restaurants and bars. For overnight guests, there are a few lodging options, including the Mountain View Historic Hotel, the Friendly Motel and the Old Corral, which also serves as a steakhouse and gift shop.

Whether you’re skiing or snowmoblie in the winter, or enjoying the scenic drive on a warm summer or fall day, the area in and around Centennial is a year-round playground.
