Wyoming Based Video Game Premieres As HBO TV Series

The Last of Us is an American post-apocalyptic video game that has now been transformed into a television series.

The drama television series was created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for HBO.

Based on the 2013 video game developed by Naughty Dog, the series follows Joel (Pedro Pascal), a smuggler tasked with escorting the teenage Ellie (Bella Ramsey) across a post-apocalyptic United States. The supporting cast features Gabriel Luna as Joel's younger brother Tommy, Merle Dandridge as resistance leader Marlene, and Anna Torv as Joel's smuggler partner Tess. (Wikipedia). 

In episode 1 of the TV series, the characters are in Boston. But there is something, or someone near Cody, Wyoming that they will travel to. Despite the danger, they head that way.

HBO's The Last of Us series will be bringing the game to Jackson, Wyoming.

You'll see the two main characters travel across the wasteland of the United States, which is ravaged by "clickers."  They are a different kind of hoard zombie infected by a fungus.

This TV show It is the first HBO series based on a video game and is a joint production by Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Naughty Dog, the Mighty Mint, and Word Games.

Once again the makers of this TV series did not choose Wyoming for filming. They went to Canada. Sorry, those will not be Wyoming's mountains that you see in the background.

For those who have been playing the video game, the TV series does not end exactly the way the game does.

In fact, the writers and producers change quite a few details.

But it's still well done and worth watching.
