Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas coast in late August and spiked gasoline prices to its highest point in two years. That damage forced the closure of eight refineries which choked the nation’s supply and sent prices up as much as 44 cents per gallon in some areas.

In the second week of October in Wyoming, gas prices are falling, but not as much as the rest of our nation.

GasBuddy.com reports the average Wyoming price of gasoline is down 1.2 cents per gallon, while the national average is down six cents over the past week.

Wyoming gas averages $2.45 a gallon, which is 28 cents higher than a year ago. But, for a positive spin, Wyoming gas is $1.05 cheaper than in 2012.
