Newcastle, Wyoming, is located on the state’s eastern border between Gillette and Rapid City, South Dakota. With a population of just over 3,000, there were only a handful of punk rock kids back in the early ’90s.

Three of them, Kody Templeman, Cory Laurence, and Zachary Rawhouser, banded together in high school to form a group named The Lillingtons.

The group recorded several albums from the mid-90s to early 2000s before Templeman left to join Teenage Bottlerocket. Over the years, they've been cited as an influence for many popular punk rock bands that have followed in their footsteps.

The band reformed in 2013 for several brief tours and will reunite once again on Labor Day weekend to play Riot Fest in Denver.

The annual festival features some of the biggest names in rock, hip-hop and punk. This year's lineup includes Jane's Addiction, the Deftones, The Misfits reunion, Ween, Death Cab for Cutie and many more.

The Lillingtons will be one of 25 bands performing at the National Western Stock Show Complex on Saturday, September 3rd.
