For the third consecutive year, the University of Wyoming will send a football player to the NFL Draft Combine. Pokes safety Andrew Wingard will be one of 335 prospects invited to the annual event in March, he announced on Twiter yesterday.

The two-time All-American finished his senior season tied for the Mountain West Conference tackles record at 454. Wingard and running back Nico Evans will also represent Wyoming in this weekend's East-West Shrine Game, which showcases the top seniors in the nation.

Walter Football ranks Wingard as the 22nd-best prospect at safety, projecting him as a 4th-round draft pick. An impressive showing at the Shrine Game and the combine could improve his draft stock.

Last year, former Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen worked out for scouts at the combine and was drafted by the Buffalo Bills with the seventh overall pick in the first round. In 2017, former Cowboys running back Brian Hill was also invited to the combine and was selected in the fifth round by the Atlanta Falcons.
