Our veterans for whatever reason always get the short end of the stick when it comes to being taken care of after they serve their country.  The Veterans State Skill Nursing Facility wants to change that and are set out to help more people.

Yes, there is funds and facilities set up for veterans but they limit who they help.  There is a program that helps veterans who are disabled to the degree of 70% or higher.  They receive $170 a day.

Veterans Commission spokesman said the only way to fix the situation, "is in a skilled state nursing facility, which we don't currently have in Wyoming."

The Wyoming Department of Health, the Veterans Commission and the State Construction Management Office have already hired a company to start the first two phases of the project.  Phase one is too figure out the important needs of the veterans and a place to put the facility.  Phase two will be a sketch of the facility and how much it will cost.  This is set to be completed by the end of September.

Everything should be officially opened by the year 2023.  For more information go to Veteran's State Home.
