Were you hoping to get a chance to still see the Dead?

The surviving members of the Grateful Dead performed three sold-out shows in Chicago this summer and now they've teamed up with John Mayer to form Dead & Company, coming to the 1st Bank Center in November.

Dead & Company consists of former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart along with guitarist John Mayer, keyboardist Jeff Chimente and percussionist Oteil Burbridge. They'll kick off their tour October 29 in Albany, New York and are scheduled through December 31 with a New Year's Eve show at The Forum in Los Angeles.

John Mayer filled in as a guest host on the CBS TV's Late Late Show earlier this year and he had Bob Weir on as his musical act. Mayer played a couple Grateful Dead songs with Weir and you could tell he was really enjoying it. He and Weir must have liked it a lot, because it has convinced the remaining members of the band to hit the road again together.

Dead & Company will play Tuesday and Wednesday, November 24 and 25, at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield at 7:30 p.m. That's right before Thanksgiving this year, if you know any Dead Heads, this show might make a great early Christmas present for them.
