The Biggest Difference Between Wyoming and Colorado Drivers
I grew up in Colorado and I vividly remember the Blizzard of '97, when I ended up stranded along I-25. Two days later, the truck who helped tow my car out of the ditch charged me $100.
That's the biggest difference between Wyoming and Colorado drivers. Sure, a recent study cited motorists in the Cowboy State as the second fastest drivers in America. However, if you get stuck on the side of the road here in Wyoming, there's a good chance that a total stranger will stop and help you out.
It happened to me just last night. A friend of ours was visiting from out of town. I tried to move her Honda sedan into the garage and got stuck. On a quiet neighborhood street, on a Tuesday night, two cars stopped to see if I needed assistance. One guy even volunteered to shovel me out of the drift in my driveway.
My colleague Steve Cooper experienced a similar kind of hospitality on his way into work this morning. He too, drives a Honda sedan and got stuck in a snow drift. Luckily for him, another good samaritan pulled over and helped dig him out.
That's the kind of generosity that you don't see in other places. Hopefully, for your sake, you'll never get stranded on the side of the road in Denver, because you're gonna be stuck there until a tow truck comes. Here in Wyoming, we have a different kind of roadside assistance.
