The historic building on 1613 Capitol Avenue in downtown Cheyenne finally has a new tenant. This week, a sign posted in the window announced the upcoming opening of the Himalayan Cafe.

The new restaurant will specialize in traditional cuisine from India and Nepal.

The property has been vacant for nearly a year. It was most recently occupied by Camille's Gumbo House, which went out of business in June of 2015.

Owners of the new restaurant are currently hiring cooks, waiters and hosts. Interested applicants are encouraged to call (307) 996-7338.

Let's hope it's a success. If the food is half as good as the Indian restaurant in Burns, it should be a welcome addition to the Cheyenne culinary scene.
