Construction is underway on the new Black Tooth Brewery inside the historic Pioneer Printing Building downtown, the company recently announced on their newly-launched Facebook page.

"Since construction just started we, unfortunately, don't have a definite (opening) date yet, but we should be able to determine one in the next few weeks," the post said.

Black Tooth will occupy just over 8,000-square feet on the ground floor of the 25,000 square-foot facility in the fledgling West Edge district. The building has been vacant since December of 2017 when Pioneer Printing closed after 148 years in business. Along with a bar, tables, and a stage for live entertainment, the property will also house a 10-barrel brewery.

The Sheridan-based brewery opened in 2010, originally distributing products in Casper, Gillette, and Sheridan. In 2015, they built a 30-barrel brewhouse and expanded their distribution across Wyoming and into Montana, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

"Our bread is buttered by being a Wyoming brand and a Wyoming company, and we’ve always been proud of that,” Black Tooth owner Tim Barnes told the Wyoming Tribune Eagle when their Cheyenne expansion was announced in August. “The logical step is to be in the capital for a company that is a Wyoming brand.”
